Mr. Wu, male, 38 years old, married
Major complaints: He got asthma since 2002 and
the disease occurred frequently in the past
three years. The patient took treatment in the
local hospital but there was only a little
relief. His condition still repeated more often
and became worse.
His asthma appears once again because of cold
with such symptoms as hasty breathing, coughing,
much phlegm and it is thick as well as
yellowish. Palpitations. Spontaneous sweating.
He is aversion to coldness. Thirst. The patient
cannot lie down. Blue lips. The tongue coating
is dark purple. Tooth-marks on the edges of the

greasy. The pulse is slippery and rapid.

whitish. Weak and moderate. So the treatment strategy is to
moisten lung and stop coughing.

The patient tells us the asthma is
stopped and no coughing now. Shortness of breath. Lack of
strength. Spontaneous sweating and night sweating. Thirst.
Good appetite. Thin and whitish tongue coating. The tongue
body is reddish. Tooth-marks on the edges of the tongue.
Weak pulse. So we adjust the treatment strategy to nourish
yin and boost qi, and tonify kidney.

Today is the sixth treatment course. The
patient told us that the asthma has not occurred up to now.
No coughing and no chest tightness. No spontaneous sweating
and night sweating. We advice him continue with the herbal
tea to consolidate the treatment result and take exercise
everyday.
His asthma hasn¨t recurred anymore till
now.
