Dr Ming,

Thank you for the capsules. I have been taking them as prescribed for 10 days with the following results:

- 1st day : 5 caps x 3 times a day - no apparent result
- 2nd day : 6 caps x 3 times a day - no apparent result
- 3rd day : 7 caps x 3 times a day - slight improvement of walking but muscles remain weak and some unusual palsy in arms

- 4th day : 8 caps x 3 times a day - muscles feel stronger but more cramps than usual in legs and hands in the evening. tight throat in the evening.

- 5th to 8th day : clear improvement of walking. muscles seem stronger but cramps occurr when I tense muscle in leg or arm. Throat is ok. occasional palsy in chest.

- 9th and 10th day : walk becomes difficult again. throat tight again. General fatigue.

I have eaten more nutritious food as usual (weight has increased by 2 kilos over the period).

I cannot go to your hospital for the moment but I would like to follow the treatment since it is the only treatment that has produced positive results until now.

Could you please give me some advice on how to follow the treatment ? I will make the payment for additional capsules as soon as I receive your answer (80 USD ?).

Major Complaint:
==ALS== - first symptom 1 year ago but stable now : difficult to move toes (except big one) on right foot. No problem with left foot. - cannot walk more than 50/100 meters without being tired and walk becomes unnatural. This symptom has worsened in the last 6 months - tight ankle (both) - muscle reduction : all limbs. especially visible on right low limb and left arm. worsened in the last 3 months - weight has been relatively stable in last 6 months - no problems with hands (I can type, write, hold fork) - occasional cramps on low limbs and lower part of abdomen (increasing in abdomen, stable in low limbs) - no apparent breathing problem for the moment. Throat is slightly tight. - slightly slurred speech - constipation if too much work and stress - I have always had dandruff - hyperacidity : urin is PH 5,5 or 6 in the morning if not corrected with PH buffer (sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate and potassium bicarbonate) - Normal pulse according to the last TCM practicioner I saw 3 months ago. When I was a teenager, I had for some time symptom of numb arm during winter nights when arm outside bedsheet. Other Diseases:
I have no other medical problems I have been taking Rilutek (riluzole) for one year (0,5 tab in the morning, 0,5 tab in the evening). It has no apparent effect. I tried Glyconutrients for two weeks. No obvious result. I am taking multivitamins supplements and DHEA : good effect on my general health condition but no effect on ALS symptoms I tried acupuncture for two months. Good results in the beginning (easier to move toes). I could not continue because I had to move to Taiwan and I did not find a reliable practitioner. I tried herbal TCM with a Taiwanese practioner. It had bad effects (tight throat and jaw). I stopped after two weeks and it got back to normal. I am doing moxibustion three times a week for 30 mn (scruff, legs, foot) : no apparent effect. I am doing Qiqong but not every day.
Treatment:
I prefer herbal capsules.
